good mourning dove

What is she thinking so early in the morning before the heat of the day sends her to places I cannot see.
She roams the garden seeking treasures that I've left for her to find. Bits of sunflower seeds and water pooled, ready for her bath.
My heart is calm when I'm nearby so why does she fly when I walk by...

petal reflections

I don't know why I love this image but I do. Maybe it's the blown out background or the profusion of petals. I created this back in 2013. I've been reviewing my work and discovered that what I love now is not necessarily what I loved back then. We all grow as creative people and I'm very happy on my artistic journey. I'm always seeing new patterns and light and expressing it completes my desire to share.

Bring it on!

Look who I met while walking on the beach.
Rosie, the galloping machine, the pursuer of all feathered friends, the lover of mud.

The little farmer

This is why you haven't heard from me as often as usual. I've been hauling 20 lb zucchinis up the hill and cutting my new dahlias. It turns out I have a green thumb. Who knew….

a sigh

The day was rainy and cloudy with winds that whipped up the water.
But the night comes quietly towards the light and the water releases it's energy from the day.

A word from Tully

This is mom's new garden. I'm her helper. I look for flying insects for her. When I find them I snap at them. I help uncover the homes of little animals by digging them up for her. I have made friends with one chipmunk, we see eye to eye. I chase the squirrels because their tails get in the way of the bird seed that mom has all over the place. Oh and the birds, I don't even bother with them, that's a lost cause, they  are everywhere. That big thing in the middle of the garden makes me a little nervous but I'm adjusting. I'm a very busy dog, I'm hoping to have better luck in the garden than I did getting rid of the geese. Come by for a tour anytime.

dusk

Billy Joel's wedding was last night just before the fireworks display. He had a small white tent with lovely  chandeliers and quiet floating lanterns that disappeared into the sky. It was a magical evening on the water as we watched it all from our terrace.
