emerging spring

I'm loving what happens as the sun disappears and the mystery of the trees emerges at sunset. I have almost lost the chance to capture the graphic nature because spring is forcing these branches to celebrate themselves with masses of unfolding leaves. I especially love the bareness but will soon learn to love the fullness.

A goldfinch

I would love to see the world through his eyes.

I wonder what he thinks when he sees me...

fairies

You have to be open to see her, you have to be willing to believe. You have to tap into the child part of you and just sit back and greet her with your open heart. She has secrets to tell for those who have time to listen.

Springtime

They are all out and about, singing and feeding and otherwise exuding happiness everywhere they go.

Spring has sprung in the north country, yahoo!

Why I wake early

Mary Oliver wrote a book of poems entitled, Why I Wake Early.
I love her poems, they reach into my soul. I also love standing on the beach and waiting for the sun to rise. I love the wait, and I love the forever changing light. I love how my camera releases the way I want to see things. I love how my inspirations take form, I love how I can lose myself in my craft and awaken new at every sunrise.
This is the image I want to remember of my last morning in Florida. Tomorrow I will chase the northern light.

quick fish

If you wait for the fisher people to come in with their boats they will provide you with a good fish head to tie you over.

By the way I'm the grownup pelican and no flying thief will take my precious fish!

how to fish

Well hello, do you want to learn how to fish?

You have to spot one first.

Then you fold your wings and tuck your feet under and dive!

And if you're as good as I am you'll get a fish. Go ahead try it!

find the good

There are so many ways to see a bird, especially the wood stork.
Most people think they are ugly. You know that wrinkly ugly neck and prehistoric face that only a mother could love.

But I think they are beautiful when in flight.

Their pink feet make me smile. And who doesn't love a flying dinosaur!

fleeting

Nothing stays the same. My footprint disappears with the next pull of the wave.

But I remember being there...

on the surface

I spent the afternoon walking around our pool photographing the garden petals and leaves that blew onto the surface of the water.

They formed beautiful patterns of bright clear saturated colors floating next to yesterday's best attempts at staying new.

The translucent ones disappeared to the bottom by late afternoon.

good morning America

Well it wasn't really all about the beautiful soft sunrise this Sunday morning, although arriving early before the crowd has it's benefits!

Can you feel the collective heart beating energy of everyone? I did.
