Far and near

These colors are so pure and soothing.

The rocks cut through the aqua and ground us with their shapes.

from up high

I measure life by depth not time.
Looking back over the years becomes a blurred memory of happenings. Decades that measure maturity and growth. But the real longevity of my life is measured by my inner eye, the vision that sees the patterns of nature that repeat themselves everywhere I look. The ability to loose myself where I am with my camera, to loose track of time, to extend my life in another direction.

my journey

I want to go outside and climb up on a branch and sing to my world.
My head is spinning with ideas and my creative juices are flowing. I just finished a two day Masters of Nature Photography Conference and I'm charged! Art Wolf, Frans Lanting, and Tom Mangelsen were the instructors and they were amazing! There are many excellent photographers out there but they are rarely good teachers. This combination of sheer talent and the ability to keep our attention for two full days was a gift I will not forget.

I made this image a year ago. I didn't quite capture what I wanted. It's a bit out of focus, very busy background, but there is something here that I have always loved. Now I know what it is.
It tells my story. Beginning flight, on my way, with warm beautiful colors leading my course.
It's hopeful...

Happy Valentines Day

There are so many ways to love.
Doing the best you can with what you have is important.
Giving love is sometimes easier than receiving love.
Preparing to love others takes boundless energy.
These great egrets show us the way.

flight patterns

I have over 900 images that I have shot over the last 2 mornings at Wakodahatchee. The light was entirely different, one morning the sun arrived with strength and intensity. The next morning it hid behind the moist foggy air and left us all in a dream state.
Mating pairs were everywhere, busy preparing for the littles.
I don't even know where to begin, I have so much to share with you.

Mangroves reflected in the water just before the rain storm.
Looks like a Chinese inspired wallpaper.

soft focus

I've been spending some reflective time in the marina lately.
