My cousin
This is Mabel, she is my cousin. She is a city dog and I'm a country dog. She lives with me for part of the summer. I actually love her, never thought I would but I do. When I bark she comes running and looks me in the face and then looks all around to see why I'm barking. Frankly by the time all of this has happened I forgot what I was barking about and we go back to our napping. Even though she is a city dog she is good at chasing squirrels and barking at the sailboats. I have taught her well. She is quite tidy looking don't you think? She is all fancy and I have more of a relaxed fuzzy look.
I just wanted to introduce you, I think you would like her too.

hydrangeas
They have decided to bloom and I am so thankful for that. They emerge through the dark folds of the earth and greet me on the garden path leading down to the beach. All fat and spongy and happy with petal greetings. I think they are talking to me, can you hear them too?

a flit
Here and there and everywhere she goes. Tending to the flowers, soaking up the sun.
Spreading her beautiful wings while fluttering around the garden.
I can barely keep up with her.
