humbling

Well I met my match with this hummingbird!

She ruled this feeder along with unwelcome bees.

Thank you Sally and Mike for letting me sit, struggle and shoot with these master fliers.

flutter time

If the rain ever stops I plan on spending more time with the butterflies.

a little down time

Get down low in your garden and let your eyes relax.  Look at your garden as a whole instead of a section that needs weeding. Now let your whole body relax into the softness of your flowers. Stay there awhile, you can weed tomorrow....

a leap of faith

Do you think a tree can feel the quivering soft touch of the hummingbird resting on her branch?

Do you think the tree feels the pleasure of having a kestrel share her dinner?

Do you think the tree feels like a mother to all who fly into her branching arms.
Well if you maintain the heart of a child you may very well believe it.

In memory

The soul of this tree lives in the hearts of my grandchildren.
In those hearts it will claim  the space it needs to reseed and grow in another way.
It has finally outlived it's own ability to survive.

The future depends on those young hearts to have made a deep connection with the tree. Now is the time to go hug a tree, any tree, take your young ones by the hand
and show them how to love our world.

the chase is on

I fluttered along with this butterfly yesterday afternoon.

Twirls and loops and rest..

forever on the wing...

until the heat got to me and I retreated indoors.

Praying Mantis

I'm just here praying that you won't
clip me while you're trimming the hedges.

Mind your clippers please.

Thank you now I can get back to what I was doing....
