Little green heron family

Dad was finally left by himself with the eggs, mom was on a nearby branch preening.
He continued moving sticks around in the nest.

There was a near by sound in the bushes that startled him, and me too by the way.
His feathers were literally standing up!

So he sat himself down to take care of his family. When I checked back in a couple of hours he was still sitting there. Eggs take about 19 days to hatch so guess where I'll be in a few weeks. Let's all send positive vibes to this little family that the eggs aren't taken by some predator.
