We will be heading back to New York soon, leaving our beautiful Florida behind. Today I sat on the beach and watched a seagull follow a pelican feeding in the ocean. The seagull repeatedly landed on the pelican after the pelican had swooped at top speed to catch a fish. I mean I have NEVER seen that before. It happened over and over. I wasn't sure whether the pelican was loving this attention or getting really annoyed. He had a passenger on his back!
Not unlike the space shuttle flying over NYC, just Florida style....
Oh by the way, the Least Terns have just arrived to nest on the beach. Very busy exciting time. We are expecting little ones in about a month!
