sunbeams

When I sit by the side of the Ausable river I often watch for the sun to catch the curl of the water as it finds it's way downstream. There is a magical glow that emanates from the crest of the wave as it meets the river rocks.
Somehow I had forgotten to look for the magic in the crashing ocean waves. I was too caught up in the enormity and vastness and pounding of those waves. But this particular morning I was drawn in to the transparency of the sun shining through the tips of the breaking waves. It felt ancient and sparked a desire to keep looking for the light that dances in the transition, the space between coming and going.
